I was at high beech in 1968 the best thing that happened to me mr rushworth was the master I remember mr nick who at the time was pensioner but very fit for his age I also remember mr smith who was a really nice guy whilst there I worked on a pig farm for a group captain Harris and his wife both of them were very kind to me to the right of high beech house was a dove cote and group captain Harris purchased a pair of doves for me to keep in the dove cote I was so happy to be able to care for and breed youngsters from them I spent the rest of my working life as a deep sea trawler man and worked my way up to chief engineer I am now retired but will never forget my time at high beech stay safe everyone

My story was the same as the one above but much earlier. I was there in 1959. Group Captain Harris and his family, Tim and Janine were fantastic. I was very happy working there and it changed my life. mr. Smith ran the garden and chicken farm at High Beech. Mr. Nick was a great guy. |
