This the front view facing Reigate Hill Road. The front door was rarely used during my time (1947-51)except for parents at the beginning of term. Date of this photo could be anywhere during the 1940s.

I attended from Dec. 54 to May, 55. Mr. B was Headmaster. I cannot remember which house I was in (Lions, Dragons, Unicorns) Remember Matron? A very good time, long ago. I cannot locate the school on Google earth. JDK

Mr. Krainock: the school remained vacant following the death of Mr. Bannister and was finally sold off for redevelopment: houses, I think. The matron I remember was Miss Redlich, who I though was Austrian but was apparently French. P.S. I was a Dragon . . . .

We have formed an association for the old boys for Hillside School, Godalming to where Hillside was moved in 1940. We have traced 45% of the 380 boys who went to Hillside but would love to hear from the Reigate pupils.

I posted a whole school photo for Hillside Reigate for 1951 and could still name a number of the boys there: also a cricket and soccer XI for 1948 and 1951 with names a I recall.

I went to Coniston school in Alma Road and which shared the playing field with Hillside, there was a back gate into it. There was an open air swimming pool in one corner.
